Taking a day off

Spending Friday with grandson Gavin on a field trip with his school. Should be a fun day.

Even if your plants didn't totally freeze back yet, it's late enough in the season that you can be cutting them back. Usually we have had a killer frost by now. Even though we just had flood conditions, it is already pretty dry in the field. Remember to continue watering, less of course than during the summer. Water until the ground stays frozen, usually around late November. The roots are still living. Mums are very shallow rooted plants, so be sure to get them on the 'keep 'em watered' list.
