I knew it was too good to be true. That beautiful weather couldn't last forever. At least not yet.
It is only early April, but those warm days were awesome. Here at Earthworks, we have been busy digging, dividing & potting perennial plants for you! This little bit of rain will turn everything green, including the lovely dandelion. Forsythia is blooming in the field, but not much else. I will have 3 kinds of lavendar for sale this year that made it through the winter. Blue, purple and pink. I started them from seed last year, but wanted to winter them over to make sure they'd survive...which they all did. Also, it seems many of the dianthus 'Amazons' made it through the winter as well. (they were the nearly flourscent purple/pink colors) They were often requested, but again, even though they claim to be zone 4, I need to be sure on plants I am skeptical of. If they survive in my open exposed field, they will likely love it at your home. Welcome to my newest followers, Wynzia, Ellen & Heidi!
