Other things to DIG

If you haven't already, dig and store and dahlias, annual geraniums, cannas etc. that need to come in out of the cold. You can also pot up impatiens & coleus and some herbs. Pot up and cut back, place in window sill, and give it just enough water to stay alive, & no fertilizer. In late March, cut back to within a couple of inches, give more water and start a low amt. of fertilzer. Remember to harden off plants before putting outside in spring. If your coleus and impatiens do real well, you can take cuttings from them, root in water, then pot up in 6 packs, grow on and plant out. Very easy. Speaking of digging...if it ever dries out I got a lot of potatoes to dig out of the garden yet.
