Today actually feels like Fall

Well off and on. I love fall the best, the rustling leaves, cool afternoons. A farmer always has mixed emotions as fall approaches, well this plant farmer does! On one hand, a hard frost is welcome, it will be OVER. No more flowers till next year......time for a break. On the other hand, I'll miss my routine of picking buckets of flowers and whipping up my armload bouquets for your enjoyment. Although it seems like there are months to do nothing, really far from the truth. Next years plant/seed catalogs have already arrived. New varieties to research, orders to compile, field inventories to organize, create all of our forms, develop garden class curriculum for next spring, map out next years crops, analyze this years crops and on and on. So not much time for 'enjoying a break.' But I love work more than breaks, so 'works for me!' By late Feb., I'll be starting seeds in the greenhouse, and the cycle continues. I'll take some fall photos and post soon. As soon as I remember to take the camera, photo card and batteries all to the field at the same time. =)
