Friday

The hoop frame is finally up, Frank and Glen have been hard at it. It is 96 ft. long, and 30 ft wide. This time next year we should almost be picking tomatoes already! We will do a variety of crops in here to get a jump on the season, and it gives us about a month more on the end of the season too. We are open today from 10-4, closed in the field Sat. for the holiday, but we will be at the Mankto Farmers Market on Sat the 4th from 8-12. I seem to have gotten in the habit of posting everyday when we are open............unless I post otherwise due to weather......... (Marie did you get the rain yet?) follow the hours posted on the right hand sidebar.

My newest grandson Charlie visiting for lunch in the field. We will start training him to pull weeds next year. =)

Part of the 'crew' enjoying a pizza lunch break in the field. Seated: Kayla, back l-r, Joan (in her 'hat' thanks Mariann) Kelsey and Lisa (caught here sleeping on the job). Everyone (but Joan) has been working hard at pulling weeds and keeping the place spruced up. They planted the last of annual flowers this week for some late bloomers. I am attempting to plant a few more sunflowers today, we'll see how that goes. I'll be mad in Sept. if I don't get it done! Speaking of being mad in Sept., you will be too if you don't get your peonies ordered for fall, click on our peony blog top right of page to view them.
Happy 4th of July to everyone. Stop by for some fresh salad mix, broccoli, and 1/2 price herb plants.

  1. well, never too much rain on the west side of the river....the sweet corn is trying to tassle and it's rolling -- the squash could use a drink too ... or a heavy dew....that's a good looking crew! enjoy!
