More pictures!!!

Yes. I know I need to post more pictures. Do you like the bugs best? Sometimes I only have 2 mintues to blog, so then it's just my rambling. Zinnias are blooming, as are sunflowers, and rows of other annuals for my bouquets! Don't forget to sign up for my bouquet class coming up August 16th from 6:30 - 8:30. I'll teach you all my bodacious bouquet secrets, well almost all of them. Bring a friend! For sign up info, click on classes on right hand column.

Still Standing....

Well most of the garden is, some corn and sorghum took a hit. WOW. Was it windy!
No hail here, TGFSF.
See you Sunday at Whiskey River for flowers, veggies & plants from 9:30ish to 2:30 ish!!!
Not too late to start that new perennial bed. We also have about 10 varieties of iris dug.
NO. We have not started the orders yet, had been waiting for a little rain, well I guess the wait is over. =)

Perennial Plants

Still have a great selection of hardy perennials. Lotsa confusion about when they can be planted, so hear are some guidelines:
-containerized perennials can be planted when ever the soil is 'workable.'
which is early spring - late fall
-digging and dividing time is really plant dependant, but should stop by mid-August for smaller
plants, and larger plants by late Aug. Keep as much soil around the root ball as possible.
-moving entire plants from one spot to another can be done till mid Sept., provided you are
getting the majority of the plant, and it doesn't fall apart during the move.
-when dividing, don't chop up too small, should be at least a qt. size plant when you are done.
If not, don't divide yet. Rushing them along can easily result in death as they don't winter over.

WCCO is calling for 'torrential rain' on Thursday. Now I am worried, don't recall them using that terminology before!
