My people will be at the Mankato Farmers Market from 8-12 with vegetables, plants and bouquets and Joan's Pots!
I will be at the field, open from 8-12, with plants and veggies.
You can also purchase our bouquets at the Food co-op in St. Peter.
And you can now purchase our iris rhizomes at Drummers in Mankato.
Starting to dig the iris orders, had been waiting for that much needed rain earlier in the week for them to plump up.

Check out these beautiful Green Beans!
On another note; Looking for crafters or producers for our farm fest. Do you anyone would makes rugs, honey, soaps, candles, or who grows berries, grapes etc. locally? We would love to invite them to our festival.
Check out the info, link at top right of this blog page.
We also need volunteers to help with parking and kids games. How about some of my students form the 'almost' free garden class? Any help is appreciated.
Rained out for Wed.
Okay so we are just getting into the groove in the field, Kayla was picking the green beans, Lisa was digging iris, Kelsey was planting Lady'sMantel, Joan was just hanging out, and I was just getting ready to cut some flowers after I washed the beans and the rained started. So not learning a lesson from before, we continued to work. And then it rained a little more. We figured it would pass.......well it did after 20 mintues of down pour. So we put the clown act into high gear. We pulled 2 of the cars out of the field into the neighbors driveway, scrambled to throw what we could in the back of the truck including Kayla's bike, threw her in the back seat, stuck it in 4 wheel and fled, mud everywhere. So my prediction certainly CLOSED for the rest of today and likely till 1 pm Thursday. I will post tomorrow. We got 2/10' rain in about 20 mintues on top of 1 plus inches yesterday, it didn't take much to get really muddy again. By the way those Fred Flinstone garden clogs have NO traction. I nearly fell on my butt numerous times, advised Kelsey the first one to laugh goes down with me......
Wed. Open at 1pm
Just rechecked the field, and I think it will be dry enough by 1pm. So stop out for veggies and plants and tour through the blooming daylilies.

Grateful to announce RAIN!
We will be closed this morning for sure, I will check the field before noon to see how muddy it is.
This has certainly been a weird weather summer. Too dry, too cloudy and too cool.....for the warm season crops anyway. Cool crops like lettuce, broccoli, and peas are lovin' it. Personally, I prefer to work in the cool waether too, but it does nothing for ripening tomatoes and pumping out melons!

Beep Beep
Okay now this can be a problem. Even though it might seem quiet and serene in the field, it is really noisy with all the traffic, and sometimes you can really sneak up on us. So if we don't see you right away beep your horn for service. I'd love to just have someone 'sitting' there minding the store all day, but not possible! We make every effort to keep our eyes peeled for customers and to get there as quickly as possible when someone arrives. Totally missed a lady last week, didn't hear a thing till she shut her car door to leave. Sorry! Also, if you hide your car behind our trucks or wagon, we can't see you! And lastly if you drive a Silver Chevy truck (there are zillions) I just might look at it and wonder why I parked there! So problems addressed and solved.... park in the open and beep, and trade in your Chevy, and we'll be right there!
